City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Mar. 28.

The National Montford Point Marine Association is hosting the Grand Re-Opening of its historic Montford Point Marine Museum 11AM, April 30 aboard Camp Johnson. They will also host a gala and other events throughout the weekend of April 29.

The gallery honors and celebrates the legacy of the first African American Marines, who trained at Montford Point (now Camp Johnson) from 1942-1949.
