City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Oct. 17.

Did you Know: Jacksonville is home to 12 Oyster Highway sites on the New River that have played a huge part in improving the health of the river.

Join us for an open house tomorrow, October 13 from 1-3PM at Sturgeon City Environmental Education Center to learn more about the Oyster Highway Project and the difference 

it’s made for the New River.

As part of #NCOysterWeek, Jacksonville Stormwater Department and Oyster Highway Project partners are inviting community members to learn more about the New River Oyster 

Highway and Your City’s sustainability efforts.
