City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.

 Hosted by Turning Adversity into Success for Children of Onslow (TASCO), this event is open to the public and will be held at 6PM, January 31 at Jacksonville City Hall (815 New Bridge Street). 

The program will feature discussion with panelists  representing City, County and local non-profit organizations, as well as Q&A with community members. 

Panelists include: 

Tondrea Leach, Executive Director, PEERS Family Development Center

Captain Linwood ‘Benji’ Foy, Onslow Sheriff’s Department

Detective Julia Parrish, Jacksonville Police Department

Susan Thigpen, Deputy Director of Onslow County Social Services

Kathleen Holbrook, Vice President of Advocacy, One Place

Kristen Richmond-Hoover, Director of Health Department, Onslow County

They will speak about how to better serve our community and support TASCO in working to decrease child abuse and neglect through prevention, education and family support. The meeting will be broadcast on G10TV and made available on the City’s YouTube Channel.
