County of Onslow issued the following announcement on Aug. 15.

Congratulations to Benjamin C. Jones, the new Albert J. Ellis Airport Chief of Police.

 Family and friends joined Chief Jones for a swearing in ceremony on August 9, 2022 at the airport and celebrated his new position.

He previously served as a Captain with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant in the airport’s police department, Sergeant with North Topsail Beach Police, and he is a USMC veteran.
