COUNTY OF ONSLOW: Duke Energy Storm Resilience and Preparation Event

County of Onslow issued the following announcement on Aug. 18.

The Onslow County Government Center hosted a Duke Energy storm resilience and preparation event today. 

Representatives from Duke Energy gave presentations on weather forecasting, power restoration, and the use of emerging technologies like drones and self healing power grids to respond to power outages.

There were over 50 people in attendance representing elected officials, community leaders, and utility providers from both Onslow and Jones Counties.

 After the event Duke Energy crews gave hands on demonstrations of the tools and technology they use to provide and restore electricity.
