COUNTY OF ONSLOW: Governor Roy Cooper Ordered All U.S. and North Carolina Flags To Be Lowered To Half Staff From Sunrise March 28 – 30, 2022

County of Onslow issued the following announcement on Mar. 22.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half staff from sunrise Monday, March 28 through sunset Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in honor of Cpl. Jacob M. Moore, Gunnery Sgt. James W. Speedy, Capt. Matthew J. Tomkiewicz, and Capt. Ross A. Reynolds. The four U.S. Marines were assigned to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station New River and were killed during a flight in Norway on March 18, 2022 while participating in the Cold Response 2022 training exercise.
