Jacksonville announces dates and activities for annual Winterfest and Artisan Market

The City of Jacksonville has announced its annual Winterfest event, scheduled to take place at Riverwalk Crossing Park on December 5-7. The festival is free to attend, with costs only for purchases at the Candy Shop and food trucks.

Activities planned for Winterfest include a Red Knights Motorcycle Ride-in, sledding, a snow play area, pictures with Santa, a petting zoo, hayrides, ice skating, DJ and stage entertainment, food trucks, games, a rock climbing wall, trackless train rides, winter crafts, and access to the Candy Shop located at Kerr St Rec Center.

The Annual Tree Lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Flotilla at the Marina.

In addition to Winterfest, the Winterfest Artisan Market will be hosted at the Commons Recreation Center. Shoppers can browse for holiday gifts crafted by local artisans. Contests will also take place throughout the weekend; further details are available on the official website.

The Artisan Market will operate on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Pet photos are available on Sunday between noon and 5 p.m.
