The Jacksonville Police Department is seeking candidates for both Police Officer and Police Officer Trainee positions. No prior experience is required for applicants interested in the trainee role.
A hiring event will take place on Saturday, November 22 at the Center for Public Safety, located at 200 Marine Blvd., starting at 8 a.m. Those who wish to attend must first complete an application through the city’s official jobs portal at jacksonvillenc.gov/jobs.
During the event, participants can expect to spend about four and a half hours onsite. The schedule includes learning about working within the department, taking the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), and participating in the Police Officer’s Physical Abilities Test (POPAT).
Applicants are advised to arrive well-rested and dressed in fitness clothing such as athletic shoes, shorts or pants, and a t-shirt. The department encourages prospective attendees to watch their POPAT demonstration video available on Instagram @jacksonvillencpolicedept to better understand what the physical test involves.
“We are looking forward to seeing all applicants on Saturday, November 22. There will be signs out front directing you where to park and enter the facility. Need more info? Reach out to our Recruiting Team at jpdrecruitment@jacksonvillenc.gov or call 910 455 4000 and ask to speak with a Recruiter.”
