County Onslow issued the following announcement on Jul. 16.
Onslow County has been named as a Top Ten County in the nation for best technology practices by the Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties.

Onslow County ranked sixth in the nation for counties of Onslow’s size for County initiatives that streamline delivery of government services; encourage open data, collaboration, and shared services; enhance cybersecurity; and contribute to disaster response and recovery efforts.

Among the innovative services, is a program that helps Sheriff’s deputies and other law enforcement make a make an in-field assessment of the mental health of disturbed individuals. The HealthIM program is deployed with the Sheriff’s Deputies and Jacksonville Police officers.

This is the fifth year that Onslow County has ranked in the top ten in the annual survey conducted by the Center for Digital Government for Counties that have a population of 150,000 to 249,999.
