TOWN OF SWANSBORO: July is Park and Recreation Month

Plygd

Town of Swansboro issued the following announcement on Jul. 19.

July is Park and Recreation Month. Swansboro Parks and Recreation is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting our community to share their experiences, memories, and stories about what parks and recreation mean to them. We will be sharing our Parks and Recreation stories on social media. We are excited to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month with everything from popsicles in the park to photo and story contests.

To learn more about Park and Recreation Month, visit www.swansboro.recdesk.com and www.nrpa.org/July.

Photo Contest

Get outside, enjoy the parks and nature! Take photos of yourself, your family, or friends enjoying the outdoors, playing, relaxing in our parks, splashing around the splashpad, playing basketball or pickleball, or participating in any of our programs this month.

Tell us your Park and Recreation Story

Swansboro Parks and Recreation wants to hear your story and how parks and recreation has impacted you. Share your experiences, favorite memories, or why you love parks and recreation, along with a photo.

Contest Guidelines

Submit photos and stories to astanley@ci.swansboro.nc.us. As photos and stories are received, they will be posted on Facebook. All entries have the chance to win prizes throughout the month. Each day one entry will be drawn for a prize. At the end of the month all entries will be entered for a chance to win a Swansboro Summer Beach Pack. Last day to submit entries to be eligible for prizes is July 31, 2021.
