CITY OF JACKSONVILLE: No Public Admitted To Montford Point Marine Day Ceremony on August 26, 2021

Announcement

City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Aug. 19. 

Due to current COVID conditions in the area and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no public admitted to the Montford Point Marine Day Ceremony on August 26, 2021.

The ceremony will take place at 9AM and will be available to view live on Facebook.com/JacksonvilleNC.gov. You may also view the ceremony later on G10TV, G10TV.org, and YouTube.com/JacksonvilleNCGov

The event will only include guests of honor, speakers, medal recipient family members and participants. A highlight of the ceremony includes three Montford Point Mariners who will receive the Congressional Gold Medal for their service.

Military guests of honor, guest speakers and escorts attending include, SecNav and Mrs. Del Toro, CMC and Mrs. Berger, Secretary Gaskin, SMMC and Mrs. Black, LtGen and Mrs. Jurney

Mayor Sammy Phillips
