Town of Huntersville issued the following announcement on Sept. 29.
Town offices will close to the public at noon today due to expected weather impacts from Tropical Storm Ian.
Staff will be working remote and crews are ready to respond as needed to any impacts from the storm.
Please stay off the roads as wind and rain from the storm intensify this afternoon through early Saturday if you can.
If you encounter downed trees in your neighborhood, contact Huntersville Public Works at 704-875-7007. Please call 9-1-1 for downed trees creating emergency situations and/or affecting major roads like Gilead Road, Huntersville-Concord Road, Beatties Ford Road and numbered highways like NC73, US21, NC-115, etc. Residents can check www.drivenc.gov for any weather-related road closures to NCDOT streets as that is updated in real time.
