County of Onslow issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
Onslow County has been in touch with Duke Progress Energy regarding the extraordinary energy use during this cold weather event.
As a result of the high energy demand there are rolling blackouts across North Carolina.
All of Onslow County Duke Progress Energy customers are expected to have power restored by 9 AM, but additional outages may occur as the cold weather continues.
It is important to conserve energy as much as possible to help prevent any additional power outages during this time.
