Onslow County recently issued the following announcement.

Shorebird ID Workshop

Saturday, February 22, 2020

Onslow County Museum presents a nonbreeding shorebird id workshop on Saturday, February 22, from 9 am – 2 pm. Come join Becky Skiba of the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to discover the shorebirds and waterfowl that winter in North Carolina along their migratory paths north or south. North Carolina is one of the only states on the Eastern Seaboard that hosts migratory shorebird species throughout every season. Although shorebird identification is challenging, learning about behaviors, feeding styles, habitat preferences, size and physical attributes will make birding on our winter beaches more enjoyable while you stretch your legs. Pre-registration is required. To register, please email Rebecca.skiba@ncwildlife.org. This is a FREE workshop. Space is limited to 20 participants only! Ages 12 and up welcome.
