Guidelines for cleanup have been set for Jacksonville following Hurricane Isaias trek through North Carolina in early August.
The city reported on its Facebook site that it is not expecting to use outside contractors based on damage being less than previously expected. Those who do hire contractors are responsible for the hired help following city guidelines, particularly placing debris on the curb, Jacksonville officials said in a Aug. 4 Facebook post.
The Jacksonville Fire & Emergency Services is also providing a reminder it is illegal to burn trash and refuse within city limits the city reported on its site.
Those with carts are reminded to take notice of their regular days. Those who have damaged garbage or recycling containers can contact the city for a replacement, Jacksonville posted to Facebook. The site also reported branches or trees should be cut to four feet in length. It is also important to not move yard waste that is intertwined with downed lines. Leaves and other loose debris should be placed in a sturdy bag.
