City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
As Onslow County COVID-19 numbers continue to rise, the City of Jacksonville will put additional safety measures in place for indoor meeting areas. Effective Monday, August 16, 2021, no more than 20 persons will be allowed inside Council Chambers at any given time. Anyone wishing to attend a City Council meeting will be able to view the meeting from the lobby or another room. As always, meetings can be viewed on G10TV (local channel 10), g10tv.org, and Facebook.com/JacksonvilleNC.gov
Anyone wishing to speak at public comment session will wait in a different area and be escorted to the Council Chambers as they are called to speak. In lieu of attending, you may provide written comments by sending an email to the City Clerk at cmiracle@jacksonvillenc.gov. Comments made in this manner and received no later than 48 hours prior to the meeting will be provided to the City Council and made a part of the meeting record.
