City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Feb. 22.
If you're interested in a career serving your community with the Jacksonville Police Department, you'll want to join us for our Daylong Hiring Event this Friday, February 25, from 12-8PM at the Center for Public Safety, 200 Marine Blvd.
We are hiring 12 Police Officer Trainees to join our team with a tentative start date of May 2, 2022.
How to apply: Fill out your application ahead of time at JacksonvilleNC.gov/Jobs, then come see us Friday for on-the-spot interviews and initial screening. We will administer Adult Basic Education tests (TABE) at the event. Don't forget your resume and valid ID.
Job requirements: High school diploma or GED and valid driver's license. No felony convictions.
Selected candidates will attend Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and receive full salary and benefits while training. Starting salary is $35,000 with competitive health care benefits.
