Town of Surf City issued the following announcement on Mar. 8.
Upon discussions with NCDEQ and Town Administrators, the format of the upcoming Open House will be different than the last Open House held in December. We will be facilitating an intuitive, interactive approach for this event using display boards to demonstrate approximately 15 -20 Projects from the Draft Project Portfolio. The boards will display photos and short explanations of each project, grouped into categories (i.e., Nature-Based Solutions, Infrastructure, etc.). In lieu of a formal presentation, we invite and encourage everyone to interact with Town Leaders, Kleinfelder Staff, NCDEQ, and others to comment on the projects highlighted. Both members of the Community Action Team (CAT) and the public will be able to provide their preferences on the projects using hands-on tools available at the meeting. Please note, there will not be a virtual component to this Open House, as it will be held in person, and you are welcome to come and go at your leisure between any of the times of 5-7pm to view the proposed projects and collaborate.
